Leadership: EI
Application
Fred Greenstein, Ph.D., Presidential
Scholar at Princeton University and author of Leadership
Styles from FDR to Clinton writes: “the most important
criteria in selecting a president is emotional intelligence.”
In mentioning this point at seminars, an astute participant
always seems to remind me that while EI may be the most
important criteria in selecting a president, it never works that
way. Political debates aside, in the everyday business world, it
may not work that way as well.
Doesn’t the harsh and insensitive tactics of some leaders
sometimes puzzle us, and yet those leaders seem to endure?
Organizational theories and grapevine rumors abound as to why a
poor leader survives.
Don’t let your organization be hampered by ineffective leaders.
We tailor our leadership programs to fit specifically with the
high level encounters and decision-making of corporate and
non-profit leaders. Our programs and services are offered
confidentially.
